The Main Street Train Station
Step back in time with this gem that perches on a berm above the Park entrance. With its turn-of-the-century architecture and lush gardens, the station offers the first point of entry for those who wish to soak up the scenery on this grand circuit tour.
The Stations
Need a lift from one land to the other? The trains travel clockwise for about 18 minutes through a total of 4 stations, each styled to the theme of its land:

The Dioramas
For a dramatic change of scenery, take in these 2 fascinating dioramas between the Tomorrowland and Main Street, U.S.A. stations:
- Grand Canyon - The Grand Canyon opens before you to reveal sun-kissed vistas that spill across the horizon. The canyon ridges are home to all kinds of critters such as mountain lions, mountain sheep, deer and elk.
- Primeval World - Welcome to the world of dinosaurs! This diorama reveals a mysterious, prehistoric landscape where such dinosaurs as the Apatosaurus, Pterodactyl, Triceratops and more roam.
The Trains
Running on bio-diesel fuel, these trains are mean "green" steam machines! Listen to the chug-chug-chug of the engine, the churn of the wheels and the wail of the whistle as you take in some of the terrain that surrounds the Park.
The Disneyland Railroad sports 5 different trains:
- C.K. Holliday
- E.P. Ripley
- Ernest Marsh
- Fred Gurley
- Ward Kimball
Each is lovingly detailed with a fine finish and striped awnings. Per Walt Disney's vision, the trains are purely historical in design. Only one has any reference to a Disney character — a golden silhouette of Jiminy Cricket. This appears on the Ward Kimball train, which was named after the legendary Disney animator who fostered Walt's love for locomotives.
Lilly Belle Presidential Train Car
Get a glimpse of this gleaming beauty hitched as a caboose to one of the other trains. This elegant Victorian parlor car is quite the lady of the rail with its stained glass and gold stenciling. The Imagineers worked with Lillian Disney to create this precious car, which had been a longtime dream of Walt's.
It's just another reason to ride the Disneyland Railroad for a tour you'll never forget!
Guest Policies

- The Main Street Station has numerous steps to climb to reach the boarding platform. Wheelchairs must be folded and placed onboard the train or left at the bottom of the stairs until Guests return from their round-trip.
Wheelchair Access: Proceed up the center stairs to the Station. Guests must navigate steps when boarding and disembarking the train. - Wheelchair Access at Mickey's Toontown Station: Wait behind the yellow line outside the west exit gates for a Cast Member to provide boarding instructions. Wheelchairs and Electric Convenience Vehicles (ECVs) can be accommodated onboard the last car of the train via a ramp located inside the boarding area (limited space available).
- Wheelchair Access at New Orleans Square Station: Proceed up the exit ramp nearest the Haunted Mansion and wait outside the exit gate behind the yellow line for a Cast Member to provide boarding instructions. Wheelchairs and Electric Convenience Vehicles (ECVs) can be accommodated on the last car of the train via a ramp located inside the boarding area to the left (limited space available).
- Wheelchair Access at Tomorrowland Station: Proceed to the top of the exit ramp and wait behind the yellow line for a Cast Member to provide you with boarding instructions. Wheelchairs and Electric Convenience Vehicles (ECVs) can be accommodated onboard the last car of the train via a ramp located inside the boarding area (limited space available).
