Hosted by Chef Jamie Gwen

Attend an evening with the personalities, celebrity chefs and stars from some of your favorite cooking shows or with the well-known personalities or celebrities who discovered the vast world of wine and became winemakers themselves! The evening begins with delicious appetizers and exquisite wines followed by a question and answer session. Thomas Charles Lasorda is a former Major League baseball pitcher and manager. In 1999 he marked his 50th year in one capacity or another with the Brooklyn and Los Angeles Dodgers organization, the longest tenure anyone has had with the team.

Join Executive Chef Andrew Sutton of the award-winning Napa Rose as he leads a hands-on cooking and learning experience. Each class will create and enjoy a themed meal with expertly paired wines.

Friday May 22, 2009 – Williams-Selyem, Robert Cabral - Sold Out

Bob Cabral has been involved in growing and making wine professionally since 1979 and has had an interest in wine and farming since his childhood helping his grandfather make wine in his barn. A fourth generation family farmer and grape grower, he took all he learned at the family farm and applied it to his studies at Fresno State University, ultimately earning a Master's Degree in Enology. More than two decades after Williams Selyem Winery produced its first vintage of Pinot Noir in 1981, everyone at the winery, from the owners and winemaking team to the temporary crush help, is still as passionate about making the most luscious, flavorful wines as the crew who made that first vintage. Every person, no matter what his or her job, is truly proud to be a part of the creation of the most highly prized Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Zinfandel.

At Kenwood, grapes from Sonoma County's finest vineyards get the attention they deserve. The harvest from each vineyard is handled separately within the winery to preserve its individuality. This small lot winemaking allows winemaker, Pat Henderson, to bring each lot of wine to its fullest potential. In the California tradition, Kenwood Vineyards produces a full line of premium quality varietal wines including Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Zinfandel, Pinot Noir and Merlot.

Introduction to Wine Tasting

This course, led by Master Sommelier Michael Jordan, is designed to introduce you to the joys of wine tasting. Each class will offer basic training in the different grape varietals and blends, tastes, structures and characteristics found in every glass. You will use your new found skills to participate in a "blind-tasting" employing your senses to identify four different wines.
