6 Great Walt Disney Cartoons
Starring Mickey Mouse and a familiar roster of beloved Disney characters, the classic films that screen continuously throughout the day at Main Street Cinema include:

  • Steamboat Willie , 1928
  • Plane Crazy , 1928
  • The Moose Hunt , 1931
  • Traffic Troubles , 1931
  • The Dognapper , 1934
  • Mickey’s Polo Team , 1936

Walt Disney opened Main Street Cinema on July 17, 1955 to both introduce a new generation to the bygone era of early moviemaking and rekindle a nostalgic spark in those who had witnessed it firsthand. Today, the theater—and films that play there—provide an eye-opening glimpse into what movie-going was once like.

An All-Time Classic

Watch Steamboat Willie at Main Street Cinema; it made Mickey Mouse a star and introduced the world to synchronized sound!

Directed by Walt Disney and featuring his voice in the role of Mickey Mouse, Steamboat Willie was one of the very first cartoons to feature synchronized sound effects. Following the huge success of this innovative new soundtrack, sound effects were incorporated into both previous and future Disney theatrical releases.
