During the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort, Sleeping Beauty Castle undergoes an enchanting transformation. While shimmering lights bedeck its rooftops, colorful garlands and wreaths add festive accents all around. At nightfall, the castle appears to be gleaming with snow-capped turrets and glistening icicles—thanks to the dreamlike glow of ethereal lighting effects.
In this magical season, we invite you to behold the splendor of this fantasy come to life and to enjoy one of Disneyland Park’s most magnificent photo opportunities.
The attraction is located inside Sleeping Beauty Castle, which opened on July 17, 1955 with Disneyland Park. The castle’s design was based on the real Bavarian castle, Neuschwanstein. Guests could not actually walk through the castle’s interior until 1957. The famed drawbridge has only been lowered twice—once at the opening of the park in 1955 and again in 1983 at the rededication of Fantasyland.
Sleeping Beauty Castle Walkthrough may close intermittently to accommodate fireworks performances.
