The building housing Taste Pilot’s Grill is a historic artifact as well, a repurposed Quonset hut. These semicircular prefabricated structures made of corrugated steel were popularized during World War II by the United States Navy when the need arose for an all-purpose, lightweight building that could be shipped anywhere. After the war, many Quonset huts were sold off to the public, like this one.
