Mobile Apps and Devices – Frequently Asked Questions

Q:

How do I charge my MagicBand+, and what does each charging light mean?

A:

MagicBand+ includes a rechargeable battery and 6-inch USB charging cable with the purchase of the product. You may also purchase a charging cable separately online or at Disney Parks and Resorts retail locations. In addition, portable phone chargers are available for purchase throughout the Disneyland Resort. We recommend charging your MagicBand+ once before your visit and nightly during your stay. Also, make sure you have installed the latest version of the software for optimal usage.

MagicBand+ Battery Status
The battery status can be checked via the Disneyland mobile app if you have paired the MagicBand+ to your mobile device. In addition, pressing the button on the back of the band will result in the band lighting up a color to report the current battery status.

Flashing red indicates No Battery. You should charge your band as soon as possible with the included charging cable. Flashing yellow indicates Low Battery. Continue charging your band until green for the most optimal usage duration throughout your day. Flashing green indicates High Battery. You are good to go!

Please note: if your MagicBand+ battery is depleted, you will still have access to certain features such as:

  • Park entry (with valid admission and theme park reservation)
  • Redemption of Lightning Lane selections
  • Disney PhotoPass photographer interactions

Certain MagicBand+ functionality and features, such as software updates, customization settings, and use with certain Parks-and-Resorts interactive experiences may be affected if the MagicBand+ battery is not adequately charged.
