CHOC Walk in the Park History
Throughout this event's 27-year history, CHOC Walk in the Park―presented by the Disneyland Resort―has raised more than $30 million to help support care, services, education and research for children undergoing medical treatment and their families.
Last year, 560 walkers joined the Disneyland Resort Annual Passholders CHOC Walk Team―and raised more than $102,000! Let's show what Passholders can do this year as we work to meet the fundraising goal of $115,000.
An Exciting Walk – with Character
Participants in the 2017 CHOC Walk in the Park will enjoy a family-friendly 5K walk through Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park and the Downtown Disney District. Along the way, you’ll have unique photo opportunities as some cherished Disney friends cheer you on.
After you cross the finish line, the celebration continues in the Downtown Disney District where you’ll find special offers from event sponsors, shops and restaurants. Just be sure to show your event wristband.
How to Join the Team
Each individual must raise a minimum $85 donation in order to participate in the 2017 CHOC Walk in the Park.
Only active Disneyland Resort Annual Passholders can register for the Disneyland Resort Annual Passholders CHOC Walk Team. Once registered, Passholders may add others to the team who are not Passholders themselves, as long as each added participant meets the donation minimum. The more, the merrier!
If you can't attend the event in person, you can still register as a "Sleeping Bear." As a qualifying participant, you can still receive the Disneyland Resort Annual Passholders CHOC Walk Team fundraising incentives.
Registration for new team members closes at 3:00 PM PST on Saturday, August 26, 2017, or until the Disneyland Resort Annual Passholders CHOC Walk Team reaches capacity for participants.
Once you’ve joined the Disneyland Resort Annual Passholders CHOC Walk Team, you are eligible to earn* the following fundraising incentives available only to Disneyland Resort Annual Passholders CHOC Walk Team members:
- Team members who raise $120 or more will receive a special 2017 Annual Passholder CHOC Walk pin
- The first 100 team members who raise at least $250 will receive a special Disneyland® Resort CHOC Walk blanket
- The team member who raises the most funds, and is a U.S. resident of at least 21 years of age, will receive a complimentary one-night stay in a Disneyland Resort Hotel suite for him/herself and up to three (3) of his/her guests**
In addition to the Disneyland Resort Annual Passholders CHOC Walk Team incentives, CHOC also offers fundraising incentives for eligible participants! Get more details about CHOC’s incentives at chocwalk.org.
During the month of September, CHOC will send any earned incentive(s) via US Mail or Federal Express to the address that the applicable participant provided during online registration.
*Team members earn incentives based on the amount of committed funds they have recorded by the closing date of 3:00PM PST on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 (the “Committed Funds”) and the amount of the Committed Funds actually collected and paid to CHOC by the collection deadline (the “Collected Funds”). All fundraising commitments must be delivered or paid to CHOC by 5:00PM PST on or before September 27, 2017. Cash and Checks can be mailed to the CHOC Foundation office and must be post marked no later than September 27, 2017. CHOC will use the donation information and records of collected funds to determine the team members who have earned the incentives. The incentives may not be redeemed for cash or substituted. All incentives and information are subject to restrictions and change without notice. To earn the pin, team members must have at least $120 of Collected Funds. To determine the first 125 team members who earned the Messenger Bag, team members will be ordered, from the earliest to the latest, by the date and time of when their Committed Funds reach $250. Messenger bags will be sent to the first 125 team members on this list who also have $250 of Collected Funds.
**The team member must be at least 21 years old, a resident of and physically located in the United States to be eligible to earn the Disneyland Resort Hotel Suite stay. The eligible team member with the highest Collected Funds will earn the one-night stay. The eligible team member will be notified by letter to the address provided during online registration. The specific Disneyland Resort hotel and suite will be chosen by Disney, pending availability. The suite stay is non-transferable, and may not include holidays. Stay must be booked and redeemed within one year of notification of earning the incentive or the incentive will be forfeited. The team member who earned the incentive must stay in the suite with his/her guests. Any guest who is a minor must be accompanied by his/her parent/legal guardian who is at least 21 years of age and who will be considered one of the guests of the team member. Stay does not include transportation to the hotel, food, beverages, gratuities, room service, associated income taxes and all other expenses not explicitly stated as included. Separate Theme Park admission required to enjoy the Parks.
