Take a 360° Tour of Tarzan's Treehouse™

Fun Facts:

  • Tarzan's Treehouse is located on the site of the Swiss Family Treehouse, a Disneyland attraction that opened in 1962 and was based on the 1960 Disney feature film Swiss Family Robinson.
  • The "climb-through" adventure unfolds in an 80-foot-tall tree that overlooks the famed Jungle Cruise attraction and all of Adventureland.
  • Tarzan's Treehouse is built within a very special tree that is botanically classified as "Disneydendron semperflorens grandis" (large ever-blooming Disney tree).
  • The Disney-created tree is a 150-ton structure anchored by massive, banyan-like roots.
  • For its reintroduction as Tarzan's home, the original tree — which had been the home of the Swiss Family Treehouse since 1962 — was made 10 feet taller.
  • During its makeover in 1999, the tree's 450 branches were redressed with nearly 6,000 hand-applied lacy leaves.
  • The main living area of the house, which is visible from the Adventureland walkway, features a series of wooden structures made of planks removed from the ill-fated ship.
