People-watch on the charming covered patio or venture inside to see vintage Disney artifacts from Walt’s Day. There since New Orleans Square opened in 1966, this casual table-service restaurant once known as Creole Café features dark woods, brass fixtures and stained glass that transport you to the Big Easy’s oldest neighborhood.
Amidst delightful character displays from The Princess and the Frog, you’ll find the very same espresso machine that served Walt cups of his favorite brew. You may even feel inspired to conclude your meal with an espresso in tribute.
A stone’s throw from 2 of Disneyland Park’s most popular attractions, Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion, Café Orleans is also the perfect place to dine before Fantasmic! in the summer. When the weather’s fine, sit outside and enjoy picturesque views of the Mark Twain Riverboat and Sailing Ship Columbia gliding by on the Rivers of America.
Café Orleans is a favorite for a reason: the delectable deep-fried sandwich, hands down the house specialty. Adapted from the classic French croque-monsieur sandwich, this battered turkey, ham and Swiss treat dusted with powdered sugar and served with berry purée is truly a slice of heaven. Pair it with our garlicky Parmesan pommes frites served with Cajun spice remoulade, and you’ve got yourself a meal! We also serve a meatless 3-cheese Monte Cristo made with Swiss, mozzarella and double-cream Brie.
Other choices include our hearty New Orleans gumbo, the “Crescent City” salad with blackened chicken or salmon and the seafood herb crepe. Be sure to try our light, fluffy Mickey beignets before bidding us adieu. Served with raspberry coulis and vanilla bean crème anglaise, they’re destined to become a new favorite!
