Frequently Asked Questions
- Answer
Guests should email the Special Diets team in advance if anyone in their party has either 4 or more allergy requests, requires pureed meals or adheres to a medically restrictive diet (such as very low protein diet).

We request that Guests don’t contact us any sooner than 14 days prior to your arrival. With the information provided, the Special Diets team will assist you in navigating the dining process, which may include providing the restaurants you intend to visit with advance notice.

- Answer
Guests are allowed to bring food into the Disneyland Resort theme parks.

Please note that Cast Members are prohibited from storing, preparing, cooking or reheating any food brought by Guests.

Disneyland Resort hotels come equipped with an in-room refrigerator. In the event that you’re staying at a Resort hotel that does not feature its own in-room refrigerator, please call housekeeping when you arrive and request to have one placed in your room (subject to availability).

- Answer
No, many smaller dining locations like carts and kiosks do not have allergy-friendly menus.

For some menu items, like ice cream bars or frozen lemonade, you can ask to see the product packaging to determine if it meets your dietary requirements. If you'd like to review products or discuss your special dietary needs, please let a Cast Member know. There may be a higher wait time to accommodate this request.

We recommend you visit larger dining locations, like table-service and quick-service restaurants, which are better equipped to handle special dietary requests.

- Answer
The paper straws currently used at the Disneyland Resort-owned-and-operated food and beverage locations are not made with ingredients containing gluten. However, products can change at any time, and it is ultimately at the Guest’s discretion to make an informed choice based upon their individual dietary needs. Guests are welcome to skip the straw or bring their own.

- Answer
Unlike other food products, alcoholic beverages (beer, wine, spirits) are not subject to the same standardized ingredient and allergen labeling requirements. We encourage Guests with allergy requests to ask a Special Diets-Trained Cast Member for more information, as they may be able to provide brand names or ingredient lists that can help inform your decision.

- Answer
Some of our allergy-friendly recipes may include highly refined oils, such as soybean oil.

The FDA does not classify highly refined oils derived from soybeans as a major soybean allergen.

However, every Guest’s needs are unique, and it is ultimately our Guests’ discretion to make an informed choice based upon their individual dietary needs. If you would like to avoid soybean, we encourage you to speak with a Special Diets-Trained Cast Member for more information.

- Answer
No, precautionary statements such as “may contain,” “processed in a facility with,” or “made on shared equipment” are not regulated by the FDA, and we do not reference them when evaluating ingredients for our allergy-friendly menus.

Because of this, some ingredients used in our recipes may be produced in facilities where allergens are present. It is ultimately our Guests' discretion to make an informed choice based upon their individual dietary needs. For more information, ask to speak with a Special Diets-Trained Cast Member upon arrival at the location.
