From September 15 through November 2, Disney California Adventure Park invites Guests to Plaza de la Familia, an all-new event at Paradise Gardens that honors everlasting family bonds as well as Disney·Pixar’s upcoming animated adventure, Coco. This heartwarming tale tells the story of Miguel, a 12-year-old boy whose dream of becoming a famous musician leads him to unlock the generations-old mystery behind his family history.

Plaza de la Familia features stirring song-and-dance performances, Mariachi music, an interactive Tree of Life photo location, The World of Coco exhibit and a mouthwatering Mexican menu that includes pan de muertos.

A Musical Celebration of Coco

Witness a heartwarming show filled with spirited music, song and dance.

Watch songs from Disney·Pixar’s Coco come to life via enchanting performances by the Storytellers of Plaza de la Familia, singer/storyteller Mateo, a folklórico dance ensemble, the GRAMMY® Award-winning Mariachi Divas and traditional music sure to touch heartstrings during this moving salute to family.

A Seasoned Feast

Savor the flavors of hearty fare and don’t forget to save room for the sweetest of treats!

Taste buds need tempting? Sample delicious Mexican dishes from the special event menu at Paradise Garden Grill. There’s an option to please every palate, including tacos, tamales and totally decadent desserts. Quench your thirst with hibiscus-flavored Jamaica slush or Mexican hot chocolate served in a souvenir mug.

Visit the Coco exhibit and experience a touching family custom.

Brilliantly hued marigolds and calacas (skeletons) flank the entrance to Plaza de la Familia, where Guests will find The World of Coco, an exhibit presenting animation images that portray the Land of the Living and Land of the Dead seen in the film. Also, check out a 3-dimensional replica of the ofrenda (remembrance altar) Miguel secretly built to commemorate the life of the late great singer, Ernesto de la Cruz.

Stop by the Árbol de la Vida, or Tree of Life, an interactive photo location where Guests are invited to pen poignant thoughts of loved ones and hang them on the nearby wall of memories.
