MagicBand+ Isn’t Working

Having trouble? Try these tips.

Here are some troubleshooting tips if your MagicBand+ is having some issues:

Battery Level: Press the button on the back of the band and it will light up a color to report the current battery level.
- Red: Less than 20%. You should charge your band as soon as possible.
- Yellow: Less than 60%. You should continue charging your band until the light turns green for optimal use.
- Green: More than 60%. You’re good to go! Added bullet points to improve content structure and scannability If you have paired the band to your mobile device, the battery level can also be checked via the Disneyland app (2 bars = 50%).
Software Version: Make sure MagicBand+ software is up to date. You can check this by navigating to MagicBand+ in the Disneyland app (if you have paired the MagicBand+ to the device using the Disneyland app). A Bluetooth connection is required to check and complete a software update, along with at least 60% battery life.
Mobile App Version: Make sure the Disneyland app is on the latest version.
Power On and Off to Reset: Press and hold the button on the back of the band for about 6 seconds, until it buzzes twice, to power the device off. If the power-off is successful, the LED light will turn red and rotate once in reverse. Press and hold the button for one second to power it back on. If successful, you will see a solid green light.

If your MagicBand+ still isn’t working, you can then try the following:

Factory Reset: If your MagicBand+ is off, press the button once, then quickly press it again and hold for 15 seconds. If it’s on, simply press and hold the button for 15 seconds.

After 6 seconds, the band will buzz twice. Keep holding the button. At 15 seconds, it will buzz twice again and the LEDs will turn green, confirming the reset is complete.

Your MagicBand+ can be reassigned to a different ticket or pass if you would like to change your method of entry or transfer your band to a different Guest. You can manage all of your bands in the MagicBand+ section of the Disneyland App.

The rechargeable battery comes with a 6-inch USB charging cable. The battery can last an estimated 1 to 3 days when it has been fully charged, but it is recommended to charge the band overnight for the most optimal usage.

If you’re linking a MagicBand+ to your MyDisney account on behalf of another guest, you hereby confirm you have the necessary consent to do so. A MagicBand+ can be linked to only one MyDisney account at a time and can be assigned only one ticket or pass at a time. A ticket or pass will remain assigned to the band until the ticket or pass expires, has been fully used, or until a new park admission is assigned to the band. Unlinking a band from a MyDisney account will also unlink any admission media assigned to that band.
