Feast on innovative modern fare featuring the eclectic flavors of Southern California and fresh, locally sourced ingredients. At Carthay Circle Restaurant, discover bold seasonal cuisine by Chef Andrew Sutton, also executive chef of the award-winning Napa Rose restaurant at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.
Preview coming attractions as you sink your teeth into an order of our house biscuits, fried and stuffed with white cheddar, bacon and jalapeño and served with apricot honey butter. Appetizers like crispy portobello mushroom gorditas with poblano chili and queso fresco and the signature fire cracker duck wings with soy, lime and sriracha are memorable opening sequences.
If you’re at Carthay Circle Restaurant for a “matinée,” you can enjoy some of the same entrées featured during dinner, such as cavatelli pasta with Tuscan-style braised lamb and the udon noodle bowl with shrimp, mussels and red Thai curry broth. Deluxe lunch-only choices include the grilled Angus flank steak Cobb salad, Kobe beef cheek sliders, pan-roasted veal medallions, and tiger prawns with a broth of fingerling potatoes, leeks and applewood bacon.
When the stars come out, move on to more dramatic fare with the Colorado rack of lamb with fried zucchini blossoms, grilled quail stuffed with prosciutto-wrapped peaches, the tender Santa Maria braised pork pot roast or the “Weekly Bulletin,” blue Belizean lemon fish with braised fennel, asparagus and sungold tomato essence. Mini moviegoers are well provided for at both showings with the grilled petit filet of beef, crispy chicken tacos, orecchiette pasta, sloppy Joes and a fresh catch of the day.
Dessert is seasonal also and includes such sensations as the fried banana split Monte Cristo sundae, toasted lemon pound cake with blueberries, lemon curd and Chantilly cream, and “Peaches in All Their Glory,” peach and white chocolate mousse-filled cannoli with grilled peaches and peach sorbet.

Carthay Circle Restaurant occupies the second floor of a detailed reproduction of the iconic Carthay Circle Theatre. The original Carthay Circle Theatre, built in 1926, played a significant role in the life of Walt Disney. His first feature-length film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, premiered there in 1937, and in 1941, groundbreaking stereophonic Fantasound was installed in the theatre for the West Coast premiere of Disney’s Fantasia.
Carthay Circle Restaurant’s decor reflects the romance and glamour of Hollywood’s Golden Age, including references to the accomplishments of Walt Disney and his original animators. See Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Courvoisier cels—the only animated art ever to hang in Walt Disney’s home—and charming pastoral scenes from the movie painted on the vaulted ceiling of the main dining room.
Seating is also available on 2 open-air terraces and in 4 private dining rooms. Host a star-studded bash of up to 20 Guests in the Hollywood room, or keep it exclusive with the Hyperion or Buena Vista room, both of which seat up to 5. The in-between Premiere room can accommodate a Guest list of 12.
Make a grand entrance at the Carthay Circle Theatre via the stylish lobby lounge and sip on artfully crafted cocktails.
The dimly lit, elegantly appointed Carthay Circle Lounge is found on the first floor, serving swanky signature cocktails, craft beer, California wines, seltzer sodas and a full bar. For a libation unlike any other, try the Carthay Martini, made with Hendrick’s gin and bleu cheese-stuffed truffle olives, all kept perfectly chilled with an ice sphere made from locally sourced purified water. Ask to see how it’s made and prepare to be astonished! Each of the handcrafted cocktails at the Carthay Circle Lounge is served in unique glassware with ices designed to complement the drink in question. Walt’s drink of choice, the Scotch Mist, is also on the menu.
Elegant bar bites and snacks inspired by Southern California’s diversity play a strong supporting role and include the Vietnamese twice-cooked beef taco, warm Spanish pimentos with imported chorizo, Santa Monica deviled eggs with smoked salmon and lemon crème fraiche, and the ebi shrimp roll with red jalapeño and soy. Darling finger desserts, including trios of cake pops and mini mousse cones, are likely to draw a standing ovation.
