The Disneyland Resort offers a variety of services to help Guests with visual disabilities enjoy their stay. These services include:

  • Braille Guidebooks
  • Portable Tactile Map Book
  • Stationary Braille Maps
  • Information About Service Animals

Audio Description

The Disneyland Resort offers Audio Description through Disney's Handheld Device, which provides supplemental audio that describes visual elements such as actions, settings and scene changes. It works with existing show audio at specific theme park attractions, entertainment and other popular locations.

Be sure to check the device audio menu for each land to see a full list of available descriptions.

Disney's Handheld Devices are available, on a first-come, first-served basis, through Guest Relations and require a $25.00 refundable deposit. You must return the device on the same day for a refund.

Braille Guidebooks

Braille Guidebooks are available for each theme park and include attraction, restaurant and store descriptions. A limited number of Braille Guidebooks are available, on a first-come, first-served basis, through Guest Relations and require a $25.00 refundable deposit. You must return the device on the same day for a refund.

Portable Tactile Map Booklets

Disneyland Resort theme parks offer portable tactile map booklets which feature a tactile representation of building boundaries, walkways and landmarks for each theme park land.

Portable tactile map books are available, on a first-come, first-served basis, through Guest Relations and require a $25.00 refundable deposit. You must return the device on the same day for a refund.

Stationary Braille Maps

Disneyland Resort theme parks and the Downtown Disney District offer stationary braille maps featuring large print with a clear braille overlay and raised graphics to highlight key landmarks and attractions. There are also listings for First Aidrestroomsservice animal relief areas and Guest Relations locations.

Braille maps can be found at or near Guest Relations locations. Ask a Cast Member for additional map locations—the theme parks and Downtown Disney District have 2 maps each.

Service Animals

Trained service animals are welcome in most locations throughout the Disneyland Resort; however, all service animals must remain on a leash or harness at all times.
